rumbling sounds and belched smoke into the air.
For the safety of his people, Chief Pantuk decided to abandon the island and move his entire village to the mainland. Every man, woman and child, along with the food stocks, tools, weapons, cooking utensils, clothes and tents had to be moved by kayak across many kilometers of open water. Pantuk was worried about how they would pack and move their things, as there didn't exist any containers in which to carry them. |
